Electrician in Scottsdale, for today's bigger loads
Nearly half of Scottsdale's homes were built before 1990, wired for the loads of their day. Before you add a charger, a casita or a bigger AC, start with a free Panel Report Card.

Two utilities, one city permit
Scottsdale is split between two utilities. SRP's own address lookup puts the south of the city in SRP territory. The north is APS, and the middle is mixed street by street.
The City of Scottsdale lists new circuits, rewires, main breaker swaps and service upgrades up to 400 amps as Minimum Permit work. Those skip plan review, but they still get inspected. An EV charger needs its own circuit, so it needs a permit too.
The 1990s built about one in four Scottsdale homes. Those panels were sized before EV chargers and today's bigger AC units. A Panel Report Card shows how much room yours has left.
